An office with a view…
Today sees the end of my first week as part of the team at Auckland Castle and I am still pinching myself every time I drive under the clock tower and into the forecourt of the Castle. I think I just might have the most beautiful workplace in the County! Each time I walk through the Castle I am reminded of just what a special place this is. Each window offers a different, yet spectacular view and there is an air of serenity and calm here.
My role is that of Office Manager/PA (but I guess will encompass a lot of other things too)! It is inspiring to be working as part of a group who feel entirely committed and passionate about making the Castle and its parkland a place to be enjoyed and cherished for generations to come.
I myself have loved this place since I was a child and have many fond memories of time spent in the park. I hope that the Castle will continue to inspire people as it has me, and would encourage you to visit and discover its beauty for yourself.
We have a great website and a lively twitter feed (@aucklandcastle) where we will be keeping you up to date on all of the developments here. This may well be the end of my first week but I am already looking forward to week 2 and beyond, in twitter speak #possiblythebestjobintheworld!
